About Us
Baba Nyonya (Peranakan Chinese) are the descendants of Chinese immigrants who
came to Malay archipelago including British Malaya (now Peninsular Malaysia &
Singapore) between the 15th and 17th centuries. Nyonya is the name for the women
and Baba for the men.
Nyonya cuisine is the fusion of Chinese cooking and Malaysian ingredients which
occurred due to the extensive Chinese immigration to the Malacca Straits. The Nyonya
community has spread this distinctive cuisine throughout Malaysia including Penang.
McNair serves traditional Nyonya cuisine, offering a range of premium tasty Nyonya
