About Us
Penang Road Famous Teochew Chendul (PRFTC) is a locally owned Southeast Asian
dessert stall that is located near Penang Road in Georgetown. For over 80 years, PRFTC
has been an iconic presence in the heart of Georgetown, the stall famous and distinctive
Chendul flavour is a Penang mainstay. A simple bowl of Chendul, embraced the
perseverance and principles of the three generations of Tan family along with great
memories of the Penangites for over eight decades.
Our founder’s mission is the ingredients must be fresh and the Chendul must be made
daily. This made us win the hearts of our customers while their satisfaction gave us the
key motivation to make only the best and freshest Chendul. PRFTC’s core product is
Chendul, which contains a nice texture of shaved ice, well-balanced sweetness of
Gula Melaka, the creaminess of red beans added to fresh coconut milk as a final touch
with fresh daily made Chendul. Other than Chendul, PRFTC have developed a variety of
street foods, desserts and snacks on the menu. PRFTC started first franchise outlet at
Paradigm in 2013.
In 2019 we have expanded to 22 outlets and still counting. PRFTC is expecting to
expand internationally and locally in 2019 and a new central kitchen will be implemented
at Bukit Jelutong, Shah Alam to support export internationally. PRFTC always dreams
big and never gives up to uphold its founder’s dream of bringing Chendul to the world.
