About Us
In the early 20th Century, the ancestors of Restaurant Zu Chuan were forced to migrate
to Melaka, due to decades of war-inflicted poverty in the Southern province of China. In
the early days, their ancestors worked very hard to make ends meet. They often cooked
“Mee Hoon Kuih” for the children as meals. It was the most economical, time-saving and
yet delicious meal for busy parents. As the children grew up, they inherited the secrets
in making a bowl of scrumptious “Mee Hoon Kuih”. In order to let more people
appreciate this delicious meal, they started a small stall selling “Mee Hoon Kuih” to
general public using the inherited recipe.
Five generations later, “Zu Chuan Mee Hoon Kuih” continues to flourish. Today, they are
proud to serve delicious food to foodies from Malaysia and abroad. For years, they hold
on to the principles of hygienic environment, comfortable atmosphere and homey taste.
They persisted on authenticity by having all the ingredients such as noodles, soup base,
fish balls, bean curd home made.
