About Us
Shan Cheng (山城) was founded in Singapore by 2 sisters who hail from Ipoh in 2011.
They came to Singapore for work in year 2000 for more than 10 years. Their mother is
a noodle seller in Ipoh for more than 25 years. They missed their mum’s food and Ipoh’s
cuisine deeply, yet they were unable to find the same taste or equivalent in Singapore.
Hence, they founded Shan Cheng to recreate such a space in singapore to share Ipoh's
rich food cultures and authentic flavours; especially Ipoh famous food, Ipoh Horfun &
Ipoh White Coffee.

Ipoh Horfun is made with limestone water, it makes the texture silky, smooth and
chewy. The founders make use of their mother’s secret recipe and Ipoh famous Horfun
to share varieties of Ipoh delicacies in Shan Cheng. To achieve the authenticity of the
food, main ingredients are imported directly from Ipoh. For example, Ipoh Horfun,
Coffee/Tea powder, Ipoh Specialty food stuffs and various sauces are all from Ipoh.
Ipoh Hor Fun is the specialty of Shan Cheng, and besides staying true to its original
goodness, the generous serving of ingredients that comes along with every variation of
it simply makes it the crowd-pleaser and a guarantee that makes every foodie’s day.
Shan Cheng’s great service and food have also earned them Food & Service Excellence
Award 2014, SG50 Top Award 2015 and Asian Leading Award 2017.
